AuctionHelper Extends Relationship

with The National Football League

By Anonymous

Agoura Hills, California, October 25, 2002– AuctionHelper, a software company that creates auction management tools developed to automate the time-consuming components of the online auction process and allows sellers to increase their efficiency and productivity, today announced that its business relationship with the National Football League has been renewed. AuctionHelper software aided in the sale of over 2,500 NFL memorabilia items on eBay during the 2001 football season to raise considerable funds for the NFL and Players Inc. charities. Players Inc. is the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association.

AuctionHelper has worked closely with the NFL to provide unique, custom solutions designed to help increase exposure and sales for NFL Auction items. AuctionHelper has created custom templates and ‘about me’ pages that present a consistent look and feel for all NFL Auction items. The NFL uses AuctionLynxx, a patent pending tool designed to help seller’s increase sales, to send visitors from the NFL website directly to their eBay listings. In addition, the NFL uses AuctionHelper’s PictureLynxx, a patent-pending product that enables sellers to increase visibility and sales by offering potential bidders an easy method to see other items from the same seller.

“AuctionHelper has helped the NFL to increase the visibility of our auctions,” said Seth Rabinowitz, Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for the National Football League. “AuctionHelper’s software and custom-tailored solutions have helped us maximize our sales,” said Rabinowitz.

AuctionHelper and NFL Auction estimate that during the 2001 football season roughly one third of total NFL Auction page views were delivered via AuctionLynxx. The NFL generated an impressive average of nearly 400 page views per item.

The items sold by NFL Auction included game-worn jerseys, authentic collectibles such as helmets, and fantasy experiences including several unique promotions surrounding Super Bowl XXXVI.

“We are thrilled to produce such solid results for NFL Auction,” said Jerry Lynch, Founder and Chief Architect of AuctionHelper. “By using AuctionLynxx and PictureLynxx, NFL Auction generated a combined 46% click-through rate on all simultaneous running auctions. By showing more items to potential bidders, NFL Auction increases their sales,” said Lynch.

“We are pleased the NFL and AuctionHelper will return for another season of exciting NFL action,” said Jon Fitch, senior category manager for eBay Sports. “This relationship provides eBay football fans with the opportunity to buy unique memorabilia and once-in-a-lifetime fantasy packages and each purchase contributes to a worthy cause.”

AFA HELPS KICK OFF WOMEN

AFA HELPS KICK OFF WOMEN’S FOOTBALL DIVISION BY INDUCTING TWO FORMER FEMALE PLAYERS INTO THE AFA SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL HALL of FAME

Twenty-one teams from the National Women's Football League will kick off it's second season around the country on April 20th. This is full contact football played by top female athletes. The NWFL teams are all ‘registered members’ of

the American Football Association.

The AFA has registered 4 different women’s leagues (with 59 teams) across the country for the 2002 season and recently announced the national association has begun selecting female players for induction into the AFA’s Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame (not associated or affiliated with the Pro Football Hall of Fame

located in Canton, Ohio) starting with the “Class of 2002”.

Women’s football leagues were fairly organized in a few local areas in the mid 70’s but disappeared because of the difficulty in developing national interest among the league organizers. Today's female players want very much to be a part of the football world and are dedicating themselves to the sport much the same way as their male semi-pro football counterparts have been doing for the past century.

Recently the AFA announced that it will be inducting two former female players - who were standouts for their respective teams more than a quarter century ago. Linda Hodge, who played flanker, free safety and was the kicker for the

Pittsburgh (Penn.) Powerkegs and Linda Jefferson, outstanding runningback for the Toledo (Ohio) Troopers, were both selected for induction into the AFA Hall of Fame ‘Class of 2002’ and will be enshrined on June 22nd in *Canton, Ohio

along with their male counterparts. The two ladies will bring the total number people inducted into the AFA/HOF to 399 over the past 22 years.

“Although we have inducted women in the past (in the executive category) for their contributions and dedication to their leagues and teams, Hodge and Jefferson will be the AFA’s first two ‘female players’ to be inducted into our Hall of Fame,” says the AFA President Ron Real from his Sarasota, Florida headquarters. “I think this will be a great incentive for the players, coaches and organizers of the women’s football leagues to realize there’s a possibility they too one day may be nominated and selected to the American Football Association’s Hall of Fame.”

This weekend the NWFL will begin their 2002 season. The teams include the Nashville Dream, The Asheville Assault, The SW Michigan Jaguars, The Atlanta Leopards, The Mass Mutiny, The Philadelphia Liberty Belles, The Chattanooga

Locomotion, The Tennessee Venom, The Pensacola Power, The New Orleans Spice, The Panama City Beach Rumble, The Biloxi Hurricanes, The Alabama Renegades, The Connecticut Crush, The Maine Freeze, The Detroit Danger, The South Bend Golden

Hawks, The Knoxville Summit, The Baltimore Burn, The DC Divas, and The Cleveland Fusion.

The NWFL played an inaugural season in the fall of 2000 with 2 teams, the Nashville Dream and the Alabama Renegades. The league expanded to 10 teams and played again in the spring of 2001. The Philadelphia Liberty Belles beat the Pensacola Power 40-0 in front of 5,000 fans in Pensacola, Florida to win the Championship.

League Owner Catherine Masters added 11 teams and 3 additional divisions for 2002. "The growth of the league is staggering. I have had to turn down potential owners because they wanted to start teams that we weren't ready for. We have been careful where we placed our expansion teams," states Masters.

Each team will play 4 home and 4 away games. The top team from each division will compete in playoffs and the Championship game will played July, 20th. The location of the Championship game has not been determined yet.

Look for some great rivalry this year. The Nashville Dream and the Alabama Renegades are meeting for their third season. The Mass Mutiny and the Philadelphia Liberty Belles meeting will be another game to watch. Last season the Belles and the Mutiny met 3 times and either could have gone to the Championship game. Points determined the advancement of the Belles to the Championship game.

The league website, www.nwflcentral.com, received over a million hits in March 2002 (according to Webtrends). " Our fan base is definitely growing," states Debby Lening, VP Marketing/Media. "The level of play has improved tremendously and we hope to have television coverage of our Championship game. Some teams

games will be aired on local radio. Fox has partnered with our South West Michigan Jaguars team," adds Lening. And, if that wasn't enough, a full length motion picture is being produced about the league.

The Empire Football League is proud to announce the Glens Falls Greenjackets as the 2003 EFL Champions.

The Glens Falls Greenjackets wiped out 26 years of frustration Saturday, October 18th by defeating Watertown 30-6 to win the Empire Football League championship. More than 3,000 fans came to Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds on Saturday hoping to see something that had not happened in Watertown in 23 years. What they saw was the Red and Black throw everything it had against the Glens Falls Greenjackets without much success. Quarterback Kevin Siska threw for 126 yards and seven ball carriers collected 153 yards as the Jackets won their first EFL title since 1976.

The win highlighted a remarkable season in which the Greenjackets cleared a number of hurdles. To get to the championship game, the Jackets had to beat Orange County, which had beaten them last year in the title game. And to win the league crown, they had to win at Alex Duffy Fairgrounds in Watertown, where they hadn't won since 1986.

The EFL is also proud to announce their All Star Selections for 2003 click http://www.eteamz.com/empirefootballleague/files/2003AllStarSelections.doc

EFL Official Bernie Andrews and Tommy Finan were recipients of the Bill Higgins Award for outstanding service officiating, while Jim Willig of Glens Falls received the Gary Shaver Award for outstanding team administration.

>New York's Finest

The NYPD Football Team--Champions On and Off the Field

By Anonymous

New York, NY July 1, 2004 -- Thirty two years ago NYPD officer Joe Loughran found himself engaged in a highly spirited discussion with FDNY member Pudgy Walsh at the Mariner’s Inn in Brooklyn. Joe had expressed the opinion that the police officers who played on the Brooklyn Mariner’s semi-professional football team were much better players than the fire department players. Pudgy did not agree. The debate led to the arrangement of a challenge match the following year at Brooklyn’s Midwood Field. The founding 35-member NYPD squad AKA The Finest practiced at Marine Park in Brooklyn. Players paid for their own uniforms and borrowed equipment from local colleges and the Brooklyn Mariners football team. The rest is history: The Finest’s record against the FDNY team is 18 wins, 9 losses.

What started as a bar room challenge in 1972 has evolved into one of the top semi-professional football teams in the country. Currently the New York Police Department football team holds four championship titles, has reigned undefeated for nearly four years, and holds numerous awards. Through the years they have competed in London, Miami, Palm Beach, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston and next season Ireland.

Today, the team boasts a lineup of 85 players, 14 coaches, and 25 administrative staff members, and plays 5-6 games per season. The team consists of an ethnically diverse group of beat cops and detectives who, in their off-duty time, attend morning practices before heading out to their respective details. This camaraderie has not gone unnoticed. The Finest have been the subject of much media attention. Team members were featured in a fashion layout for "GQ" magazine, have appeared on Fox’s "Good Day New York", ESPN's "Cold Pizza", WB Morning Show, MTV Sports, interviewed on WFAN, ESPN Radio and COPNET radio and were the subjects of an NFL Films’ documentary entitled "NYPD Black and Blue" that aired on ESPN networks.

Unfortunately, the harsh realities of policing sometimes intrude upon the joy of the game and it is not unusual for the entire team to visit an injured officer in the hospital or face the prospect of losing a team member to violence. The indomitable family spirit that pervades the team buoys them through difficult times. The tragic events of September 11, 2001 found "The Finest" yet again rising to the occasion to serve. Fifteen team members were among the first units on the scene that day. Although many received injuries all team members survived; dug ‘round the clock at Ground Zero and have been working extensively on Homeland Security issues as well as day to day policing. When asked, all team members stated that they would not hesitate to run into harm's way again if lives depended upon them. According to team Assistant GM Detective Chris Stiansen, "Sometimes situations are bigger than one person and you have to respond, to help--it's what we do."

It is this selfless dedication that The Finest applies to help all those who are less fortunate. Through ticket sales from games, The Finest, which holds 501ฉ3 status, has generated $1 million to date for charities such as United Way, Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, Make A Wish Foundation, and PBA Widows and Children's Fund, to name a few. The team also hosts community youth groups by supplying free tickets to games, providing lunch, autographing photos, and interacting with children. The team also visits local hospital pediatric wards, delivering good cheer and autographed footballs--much to the delight of young patients. October 2001, at the invitation of the Walt Disney Corporation, the team conducted a football/stay-in-school clinic for 120 children-at-risk as part of "Disney's Global Celebration of Children." On June 19, 2002 the team was awarded the "Community Partner of the Year" award by the Walt Disney Corporations’ Disney VoluntEARS Program.

In 1996 The Finest joined the National Public Safety Football League (NPSFL), a public service agency made up of semi- professional teams around the country. The NPSFL aims to jointly promote a positive image of law enforcement to the public by raising funds for charities through competition. The members of the league’s 15 teams are all law enforcement, fire, and emergency service officers. The NPSFL is incorporated in New York State and holds 501ฉ3 status.

Maine Times profiles the New England

Football League in October issue

By Anonymous

The NEFL, founded in 1994, is home to ex-jocks and ex-cons, burger flippers and firefighters, and workout warriors who wear business suits or don blue collars from 9-to-5. Some cling to the dream of playing football professionally, while others play simply to keep at arm’s length the notion that their best days are behind them.

“We’ve got all walks of life,” says league commissioner Tom Torrisi. “There are doctors and lawyers lining up against guys who just got out of prison.”

The players’ dedication to the sport is clear. They aren’t in it for the money, because there’s no money in it for them; intangible rewards are the only form of compensation in the NEFL. There are about 40 men per squad, and practices are held once or twice a week. Many of the players have some college football experience, usually at small schools, and nearly all of them played in high school.

“If there’s one thing in common,” says Jeff Wells, an investment adviser who moonlights as a volunteer football coach, “I guess you’d call it a dedication to the joy of football.”

New technology solves soccer fan

segregation problem

By Anonymous

London, July 18th, 2003: Seatbooker, a UK technology company, said today, that the problem of separating fans of opposing clubs at football matches is a thing of the past. Using new Internet technology, clubs can decide who, when, and where in the stadium football goers can buy tickets, and then automate the entire sales and checking process.

New software introduced to sell tickets on the Internet, has been specially designed to deal with football hooliganism and ticket touting. Holding a database of customers and their previous ticket purchases, the software can instantly separate regular supporters from the casual ticket buyers, touts or supporters of other clubs. Using Internet technology means this can be faster and more reliable than other methods as well as lowering the clubs costs.

Pat Bernstein, CEO of Seatbooker gave an example. “Already, anyone can buy tickets on our customers’ websites; however, for the high demand fixtures, the club are able to set whole game or certain areas of the venue as available to members only. The software does all the security vetting. Now, we have introduced “loyalty based buying”. What this means is that for the really sensitive games, the club decides how many previous fixtures you must have been to in order to be eligible to buy. Again, the software does all the security vetting for you. This deals with almost all the issues of ticket touts, and segregation of the supporters.”

The software is already in use at Tottenham Hotspur, Blackburn Rovers and a number of other English and Scottish football clubs. The company is a major provider of online ticketing to Premier Rugby and is currently in discussion with a US based company for the addition of its technology in major US venues.

Pat Bernstein said, “In the US the security issues are less about segregation and more about touting or scalping as they call it. Here, the unique aspects of our technology help venues identify touts, prevent them buying and where appropriate, trace them for subsequent prosecution.”

KANE COUNTY EAGLES WIN AFA

’S 22nd ANNUAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

By Anonymous

KANE COUNTY EAGLES WIN AFA’S 22nd ANNUAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The America Football Association announced today that it has named the Kane County Illinois Eagles as the nation’s number one semi-pro football team in the country for the 2001 season. The strong KC Eagle team held down the American Football News ‘power rating’ #1 position most of the 2001 season and helped their bid for the AFA national title by winning the Mid-Continental Football League regular season and league playoffs in route to winning the AFA’s Illinois State and Mid-West Regional titles.

The KC Eagles flight to their unprecedented third AFA National Championship came on the heels of an undefeated (15-0) season which included impressive wins over highly rated competitors such as the Racine (Wisc.) Raiders, Detroit (Mich.) Seminoles, Minnesota Maulers, Cleveland (Ohio) Lions and the Marlboro (Mass.) Shamrocks. Both Racine and Marlboro are former AFA National Champions.

Kane County is no stranger to the AFA national scene. While winning back to back national titles in 1992 and 1993, the Eagles were then playing in DuPage County Illinois. Prior to winning their two previous titles, the Eagles actually appeared in two other national championship games losing to the Fresno California Bandits and the Brooklyn NY Kings in ‘90 and ‘91 respectively.

As the 2001 AFA National Champions, the KC Eagles players and coaches will have their names engraved on the Arthur S. Arkush Memorial Cup - symbolic of the nations annual ‘number one’ semi-pro football team at seasons end. The Arkush Cup currently stands nearly 4 1/2 feet tall and 1 1/2 feet wide and has engraved on it the names of every team and player to win the American Football National Championship in the past 22 years. Over 1,000 semi-pro football players and coaches names adorn the AFA National Championship Trophy. A few of today's Eagle players and coaches already have their names engraved on the Arkush Cup as a result of playing on the 1992-93 National Championship teams.

While Eagle head coach Eliseo ‘Sal’ Saldivar becomes the front runner for the AFA’s “Coach of the Year Award”, he surrounded himself this year with an assistant coaching staff with years of national title game experience. Sal’s’ staff included AFA Hall of Famer Ed O’Reilly (offensive coordinator); Keith Hac (defensive coordinator); and assistant coaches Jim Doherty, Scott Lodice and Steve Kardas. Kardas was the Eagles QB during the teams previous national championship titles.

As well as the players preformed ‘on the field’ by carrying out the game plans prepared for them by their experienced coaching staff, the Eagles could not have won their 3rd AFA National Title without the help of an equally experienced front office staff. From their team president, Arney Silvestri, to their General Manager, Pat Sharpe, to their field coordinator, Michelle Perkins and a long list of directors headed up by Sue Berg and Rich Lachowski - to their dance group, cheerleader squad - and their very supportive fans - the Eagles had their sights set on winning the AFA’s 22nd Annual National Championship for semi-pro football in the United States long before the season started - - - and they did!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Kane County Eagles on your undefeated season and your 2001 American Football Association National Championship. You earned it!

10 arrested in Malaysian online betting ring

10 arrested in Malaysian online betting ring

By Anonymous

April 26, 2004--Betting on football is big business in Malaysia, but unfortunately, it’s illegal. This makes the Internet a friend of the illicit bookie in Malaysia, where 10 people were arrested this week for illegal gambling. Mustafa Abdullah, the Kuala Lumpur police chief, said it was the third gambling ring arrested broken up since March. The bookies were taking bets valued up to 10 m ringitt ($2.63m).

'Initial investigations revealed that this syndicate has its headquarters in Hong Kong. We do not rule out that it may have links to the other two groups that were busted on April 12 and March 2,' Abdullah said, according to official Bernama news agency.

10 people aged 21 to 29 were arrested, along with a PC displaying a fixture list from an international football tournament. 22 PC monitors, a fax, three TVs and four cellular phones were taken in the raid.

'The syndicate operated its multi-million ringgit business using a website where members could log on and place their bets. Payment was made using credit cards,' Mustafa had said.

NonBooksPress: Une vie qui vaut la peine

NonBooksPress: Une vie qui vaut la peine tre v้cue: T้moignage une m่re de deux enfants handicap้s by Rosy Muller

By Anonymous

Book Synopsis:

Her destiny - 2 handicapped children. At the time when she had to admit her children's handicap, her first reaction was not to flee but to be strong enough to accept her destiny and to consider her life with two handicapped children as a challenge. A solution to solve this problem had to be found - and while listening to her inner voice - she found the solution: "These are my children, I love them deeply and my greatest wish is that their life will be worthwhile to be lived !" The author rapidly engaged herself in an association in favour of parents having children with an infirmity due to cerebral motor disorder, where she works since 20 years as a secretary and group animator. The secret of her "very rich and fulfilled life" is the positive approach to her destiny, and it is precisely this positive attitude that she would like to transmit by writing her autobiographical book, especially to all those parents who desperate and resign when living the same destiny."

Benefit Statement:

About the Author:

L’auteur, n้e en 1940 en Allemagne, vit mari้e depuis 42 ans en Suisse.

By Anonymous

Bangkok, Thailand, 23rd July — Bettinghouses.com is proud to present the first ever real time odds viewing system!

Bettinghouses.com is revolutionary in that it utilizes Microsoft.NET technology in providing the real time odds viewing feature. Now, punters can view the latest odds change on the web site without physically refreshing the browser. No more disputes on the odds view complain! Due to reasons such as line bandwidth, browser version or PC specification, this has created much dissatisfaction among punters.

In order to enable their clients to be fully prepared for the up coming seasons and Euro2004, they have strived daily in order to build a reliable and scalable system. Through rigorous testing, Bettinghouses.com betting platform has proven to be able to support 20,000 concurrent users in 1 macro second. And with their mirror technology for back up, it ensures their clients’ web sites are 99.99% access available.

Also, for the first time in the gaming industry, a software development house is not charging on royalty fee – Too many software companies are imposing high setup fee and high percentage on loyalty fee based on turnover. “We want to provide a reasonable and advance betting platform, many out there are so highly priced, hence this has not only NOT helping the bookmakers, but also adding extra burden for them”, commented Managing Director, Ray Lim. Software renting service is also available for those who do not wish to purchase the entire package.

Bettinghouses.com license its sportsbetting platform to clients to run on their own servers in their own jurisdiction. Bettinghouses does not own or operate any gaming sites.

CLONAID ANNOUNCEMENT SPURS ONLINE BETTING

CLONAID ANNOUNCEMENT SPURS ONLINE BETTING

By Anonymous

San Jose, Costa Rica, December 28, 2002—The riveting announcement yesterday made at a televised press conference that Clonaid has successfully cloned a human being has prompted Internet bookmaker betmaker.com to offer odds on whether or not the announcement will be deemed a hoax.

At betmaker.com’s Web site (http://www.betmaker.com), interested bettors can bet on whether or not “an independent scientist will confirm that Clonaid has successfully cloned a baby before January 8, 2003.”

The “No” is currently the favorite and is priced at -160 (a $16 bet would return $10 in winnings). The “Yes” is the underdog and is priced at +130 (a $10 bet would return $13 in winnings).

According to betmaker.com spokesperson, Mike Foreman, there have been very few bets on the “yes”, but many have been made on the “no”.

“It seems like no one seems to believe the announcement made by Clonaid,” he said. “The media coverage has seemed to be heavily leaning towards some sort of publicity stunt. Our customers are definitely showing us that they agree with the media.”

He continued, “This is one of our busiest periods of the year with all of the College Bowl games taking place and the NFL Playoffs just about to start. It’s amazing though… it seems like we’re getting more calls about the cloning than about the bowl games.”

According to Foreman, betmaker offers specialty bets on current events, entertainment and politics regularly. “It’s part of our product… we are in business to give customers a safe and secure place to bet recreationally. This just makes it more fun for them… and us,” he added.

About betmaker.com

betmaker.com is an Internet sportsbook and casino based in San Jose, Costa Rica and has been in operation since 1996. betmaker.com offers bets on all major U.S. and European sporting events, more than 40 racetracks and a wide variety of Vegas-style casino games.

Many people are in the same circumstance.

Mr. Elfelts' goal is to enable people to lead a more productive life. Another goal is to be able to eventually produce when monies are procured to sell these scooters and to donate them to people who still cannot afford them. No one can imagine how it feels to be immobile permanently.
